Here is a translation from Une souris spatio-temporelle. Please forgive the numerous mistakes I might have made, as English is not my first language.

I created this text a few years ago for a contest called: a bug, a click, something unexpected and everything changes. I wanted to show that a mistake might not lead to either serendipity or catastrophy, it can also be neutral, or both positive and negative, depending on the point of view.

The first version I wrote was impossible to understand according to my first beta-readers. I also added some details I had to remove from the French text because of the contest’s word limitation. I may also expand it even more in the future, but in the meantime here is

This text is a translation from the original French, Habite ton corps. In this post I say that as I am used to leave things unfinished, I keep a lot of drafts or ideas in my notebooks and I often wonder if one of my ideas will appear in a real book by someone else.

And it happened. In October, I read The Egg which has the same basic concept than a short story draft I had written a couple of years ago. And this is actually what made me begin this blog 🙂 To share more without trying to reach an elusive perfection.

Il y a quelques années, j’avais participé à un concours sur le thème “Un bug, un clic, un imprévu et tout bascule”. Avec mon texte, je voulais montrer qu’une erreur n’était pas source que de sérendipité ou de catastrophe : un événement peut aussi être neutre, ou bien à la fois positif et négatif (selon les points de vues), mais pas quelque chose de manichéen.

Cette nouvelle a déjà connu pas mal de versions successives, la première étant totalement incompréhensible d’après mes beta-lecteurs. Un jour je la retravaillerai peut-être en un texte plus long, avec des modifications suggérées par mes amis pour rendre le récit plus clair, mais en attendant voici

Comme je ne finis pas grand chose, je laisse la plupart de mes projets en plan dans mes carnets et je me demande souvent si telle ou telle idée ne va pas apparaitre telle quelle dans un livre ou un roman…

Evidemment, c’est arrivé. Cette semaine, j’ai lu cette nouvelle : The Egg, avec quasiment le même concept de base qu’une mini nouvelle que j’avais couchée dans un cahier… C’est d’ailleurs ce qui m’a donné le déclic pour commencer ce blog !

Habite ton corps : le titre vient d’une anecdote racontée par une amie. Nous trouvions que cela ne voulait pas dire grand chose, puis je l’ai trouvé approprié pour cette mini-nouvelle, très brute, pas finie, etc, mais la voici :
